Meet Alyssa Ohnmacht and Carrie LeChevallier, a dynamic duo leading Light of the Moon, Inc. With a shared love of books and helping others, they've combined their unique skills and experiences to create a company that empowers independent authors.
The Journey
Light of the Moon, Inc. began in 2002 as a small graphic design and publishing operation founded by Alyssa, a graphic design artist with over 40 years of experience. While producing a local newspaper, she discovered a passion for working directly with writers. In 2009, she helped one of the paper’s columnists publish a series of books, opening the door to a new direction.
As more authors sought her guidance, Alyssa became aware of how often writers were left to navigate publishing alone after being promised support. Recognizing the need for a more author-centered approach, she expanded the company’s mission beyond design and production.
To better serve authors at every stage, Alyssa partnered with her daughter, Olivia, who contributed business insight and marketing awareness. Today, Olivia continues to collaborate with Light of the Moon through her social media company, OmFluence, supporting authors in amplifying their voices and connecting with readers.
That evolution continues with the addition of Carrie Le Chevallier, who joined Light of the Moon, Inc. in January 2025. With a marketing career spanning the early 2000s and a transition into book marketing in 2019, Carrie leads the company’s marketing efforts, working closely with authors to provide guidance, education, and strategies that empower informed decision-making.
Together, Light of the Moon, Inc. remains committed to putting authors first through partnership, education, and empowerment.
